What is a referral?
While we can normally provide an immediate quotation and cover, occasionally there may be some aspect of the information provided which means the case needs to be referred to an underwriter before a decision on acceptance and premium can be made.
In such instances we notify you on screen of the need for the referral and you can then choose whether you want the referral to continue. If you decide to go ahead with the referral, the underwriter will email you once they have reviewed the case and made their decision, usually within 1 business day.
